From a vague idea to a useful starting point

    Make the offer specific

A photography site for independent shops needs a different first page from a general creative portfolio. Name your audience and the work you do for them.

    Choose one next step

Decide whether a visitor should request a quote, book a conversation or explore your work. Your brief keeps that action consistent across the site.

    Bring evidence, not filler

Use real work, photographs and background information. If you do not have client results or testimonials, the brief asks for evidence instead of inventing it.

How to use your website brief

Choose a finished template and work through the outline while editing. If you prefer an AI starting point, follow the Claude connection guide first, then paste the brief into your connected chat. This tool creates text, not a website, and does not connect an AI provider for you.

For a service business, follow the consultant website guide. For individual work, use the freelancer portfolio guide.

Choosing a template in the Editor starts its initial publication on a free address. Review that address and replace sample content promptly while making the site yours.

    Does this cost anything?

The brief tool is free and does not require signup. Building with Unshift is separate: Free includes three branded sites on Unshift addresses. Pro adds custom domains, analytics and code export. Domain registration and AI provider subscriptions are separate. See current pricing.

    Where do my answers go?

Your answers stay in this page while it is open. The tool does not send them to an AI service, save them to an account or put them in the page URL. Copy or download your brief before closing or refreshing the page. If you paste it into another service, that service receives the text you choose to share.
