Refund Policy
Effective: 2026-04-21
This Refund Policy explains when and how Unshift LLC ("Unshift", "we", "us") issues refunds for purchases made through the Unshift Studio at https://studio.unshift.ai. It supplements, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service.
If anything in this policy conflicts with a mandatory consumer-protection right in your country (for example the EU 14-day right of withdrawal described in §4 below), the mandatory right prevails.

When we issue a refund, we return the funds to the original payment method. Stripe processes refunds in 5 to 10 business days; the appearance on your statement depends on your bank.
2. Subscriptions
2.1 Monthly subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions are charged at the beginning of each billing cycle. We do not pro-rate or refund unused days within a billing cycle. To stop being charged, cancel before the next renewal date in the Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle; you keep access until then.
2.2 Annual subscriptions
If you purchase an annual subscription and decide it is not for you, you can request a pro-rata refund within 14 days of the original purchase. After 14 days the annual subscription is non-refundable for the remainder of the term, but you can cancel auto-renewal at any time.
2.3 Auto-renewal of annual subscriptions
We send a renewal reminder by email at least 14 days before each annual renewal. If you forget to cancel and an annual renewal goes through, contact billing@unshift.ai within 7 days of the renewal date. If you have not used the renewed term in any material way, we will refund the renewal charge in full and downgrade the site to the free tier.
2.4 Plan changes mid-cycle
If you upgrade mid-cycle, Stripe charges a pro-rated amount immediately for the difference, and the new rate applies on the next renewal. If you downgrade mid-cycle, the downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, and we do not refund the difference.
2.5 Adding or removing sites mid-cycle
Each published site is its own subscription line. Adding a site charges a pro-rated amount immediately. Removing a site (downgrading the quantity) takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle and does not generate a refund.
3. Credit packs
3.1 Unconsumed credits
Credit packs are one-time, non-recurring purchases. If you bought a credit pack and have not consumed any of the credits, contact billing@unshift.ai within 14 days of purchase to request a full refund. We reverse the charge and remove the unused credits from your balance.
3.2 Consumed credits
Credits are consumed the moment you submit a prompt that triggers AI generation. Consumed credits are never refundable, even if the AI Output does not meet your expectations. Generation costs are paid to upstream AI providers and we cannot recover them.
3.3 Failed generations
If a generation fails because of a system error on our side (for example, an internal exception, a timeout in our agent loop, or an upstream provider returning a 500), we automatically refund the credits used by the failed call to your balance. You do not need to contact support unless the refund did not appear after 24 hours.
If a generation completes but the AI Output is not what you wanted, that is not a system error. Iterating with prompts is the normal way to use the Service, and additional iterations consume additional credits.
3.4 Credit expiry
Unshift has two kinds of credits and they expire differently.
Subscription credits are the AI credits included with your Pro subscription (100 credits per paid site per billing cycle). They are granted at the start of each cycle and reset to the new allocation at the start of the next cycle. Unused subscription credits do not roll over.
Credit pack credits are the AI credits you buy as a one-time top-up (Builder, Power, or Studio pack). They remain valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Any pack credits still unspent 12 months after purchase expire and are not refundable.
When you spend credits, subscription credits are drawn first, followed by credit pack credits in order of their expiry date (soonest-to-expire first). This ordering is automatic and you cannot override it.
If your account is suspended for breach of the Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, all unused credits of either kind are forfeit and not refundable.
4. EU/UK consumer right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer (not a business) located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a contract for digital services within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason.
The withdrawal right does not apply once supply of the digital service has begun, if you (a) gave express prior consent for performance to begin during the withdrawal period, and (b) acknowledged that you lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun. We collect both consents at checkout for credit packs and subscriptions, because most users want to start using the Service immediately.
If you have not yet started using the Service (no credits consumed, no subscription period elapsed), you can still withdraw within 14 days. To exercise the right, send a clear statement to billing@unshift.ai stating that you wish to withdraw, identifying your account, and including the order number. You can use the model withdrawal form in Annex I of EU Directive 2011/83/EU; we accept any unambiguous statement.
We will refund the affected charge using the same payment method, within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice.
5. Service-level credits
Unshift does not currently offer a contractual SLA. If the Service experiences a significant outage attributable to us (not caused by your code, a third-party provider, or force majeure), we may at our discretion issue pro-rata service credits or refunds for the affected period. Contact support@unshift.ai with the dates and the affected sites.

6. Chargebacks
We treat unauthorized chargebacks as a breach of the Terms of Service. If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact billing@unshift.ai before initiating a chargeback so we can investigate and refund directly where appropriate. Initiating a chargeback for a charge that we would have refunded voluntarily wastes everyone's time and triggers Stripe's dispute fees.
If we receive a chargeback for a charge that was authorized and for service properly delivered, we may suspend the affected account, contest the dispute with Stripe, and recover any associated fees from your account. Repeated chargeback abuse will result in permanent termination of the account and being blocked from future purchases.
7. Refunds for terminated accounts
If we terminate your account for breach of the Terms or Acceptable Use Policy, you forfeit any unused credits and remaining subscription time, and we are not obligated to refund anything.
If you terminate your own account, the rules in §2 and §3 above apply.
If we terminate your account for our own convenience (for example, sunsetting a feature you depended on), we will refund the unused portion of your annual subscription pro-rata and any unconsumed credit packs in full.
8. Currency, taxes, and fees
Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge. Where the charge included sales tax, VAT, or GST, we refund the tax portion together with the principal amount. Currency fluctuations between the charge and refund date are not compensated. Bank or card-network fees on either side, if any, are not compensated.
9. How to request a refund
Email billing@unshift.ai from the email address on the account, with:
- The order number or charge ID (find it in your receipt email or the Customer Portal billing history).
- The reason for the request.
- Whether you want the refund or, where eligible, a service credit instead.
We respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Refund Policy. Changes apply to purchases made on or after the effective date. Prior versions are archived and available on request to billing@unshift.ai.
